Accredited SchemeSheffield Step out to a Better Lifestyle - Yorkshire and Humber

Last updated 26 February 2010
Step out to a Better Lifestyle
Step out to a Better Lifestyle
Step Out to a Better Lifestyle started in 1999 as a pilot scheme between the Ranger Service and the Medical Centre. People with various medical conditions were given 'prescriptions' for a weekly led walk.

The medical connection has continued, and the scheme now has links with the hospitals' Cardiac Rehab and mental health services.

Our walks

There are now a number of led walks open to all, city wide around Sheffield. These range in length from 30 minutes to just over an hour, so are mainly aimed at those starting from a low level of physical activity. The led walk programme is also complemented by a range of other activities such as exercise to music and indoor bowls.

Please see attached list of our current weekly walks programme.
