Goring Gap Health Walks are one of the pioneering Health Walk groups and have been running for over nine years and received the WfH Accreditation in 2008 and 2009.
Our walks
An enthusiastic group of leaders enable walkers to improve and maintain their fitness, while enjoying some of the most stunning views within one of Oxfordshire's very best Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The walks are often followed by a social gathering and we also run themed walks and social events throughout the year.
Our winter timetable valid from 1st October 2009 to 31st March 2010 is given below - the A, B, and C grades are explained beneath the timetable.
Tuesday 10:00 B, C and *First Steps Friday 10:00 B only Saturday 09:00 A & B Sunday 10:00 B
The right walk for you? A = 4 to 5 miles in a hour - Very fit B = 3 to 4 miles in an hour - Fit C = 2 to 3 miles in 45 minutes - Slightly unfit or recovering from illness or injury First Steps = Unfit or recovering from illness or injury. Elderly. Often referred by doctor
*New First Steps walkers should contact us before walking to ensure that a leader is available to give them individual support.
Routes are not pre-planned to ensure the group of the 'moment' is properly catered for.
