Mersey Valley Healthy Spaces (Mersey Valley Health Walks) - North West

Last updated 11 August 2008

Our walks

The Mersey Valley manages miles of green space along the river Mersey in Greater Manchester. We have developed way marked Health Walks on five of our sites. The routes at Chorlton Water Park, Sale Water Park, Urmston Meadows, Millgate Fields and Ivy Green are wheelchair accessible and are 1- 3 km in length. With places to rest on the way round and no steep hills, these routes are ideal to get you started walking your way to health.

Guided Health Walks run at Chorlton Water Park and Sale Water Park through the year to offer you company and a little encouragement as you enjoy your local countryside. The Warden Service may be able to lead a health walk for your group. Contact the Visitor Centre for more details on this and for maps of the Health Walks.
