Our walks

Gentle guided walks for anyone wishing to improve their fitness, ideal for families, disabled people, young and those who are young at heart, walkers and beginners to walking.

There are regular led walks during the week, ranging from 1 to 3 miles. All walks are circular walks and start and finish at the same point. Walk routes are all on good paths and mainly on a firm surface. Each walk is led by a trained leader, and a back leader will make sure nobody gets left behind.

In conjunction with the health walks programme, the Countryside Ranger Service lead rural rambles, and there are local history walks which aim to explain the significance of local green spaces.

4 monthly programmes are drawn up, and are distributed to community groups, libraries, council offices and health centres. You can also join a mailing list.

We are always interested to hear from anyone who would like to train as a volunteer walk leader or who would like to become involved in the organisation of the programme. We are currently looking for people who feel they have skills to offer in the setting up and management of Get Fit on Foot as a voluntary group.
