Our walks

A mixed selection of walks available across the borough. The majority of the walks are suitable for beginners, push chairs and wheelchairs. The walks last approximately an hour and usually finish with a friendly cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit. All walks are accessible by local transport, and are free of charge. Walks programme:- 

Monday

Thornaby Out and About Group. Fortnightly at 10am - Locations various. Please enquire for dates and locations.Moderate walk of about 2 hours, mostly unpaved, may be muddy. 

Billingham  Weekly at 11am. Meet at Billingham ForumModerate walk of 45 min to 1 hour, mostly paved. 

Eaglescliffe  Weekly at 1pm. Meet at Eaglescliffe Medical Centre.Moderate walk of 1hour, mostly paved but may use footpaths depending on weather. 

Elm Tree  Fortnightly at 1pm Meet at Elm Tree Community Centre, Elm Tree Avenue. Easy to Moderate. Mostly paved. Please enquire for dates.  

Tuesday

Ingleby Barwick  Weekly at 10am. Meet outside Ingleby Barwick Community Hall, Beckfields Avenue. Easy to Moderate, mostly paved. 

Thornaby  Weekly at 11.15. Meet outside Thornaby Medical Centre, Trenchard Avenue. Easy. All paved.

Stockton Centre  Weekly at 12:15. Meet outside SplashModerate, brisk lunchtime walk, all paved. 

Norton  Fortnightly at 1pm. Meet outside Norton Library.Moderate walk of 1 to 2 hours, mostly paved. Please enquire for dates.

Wednesday

Norton  Weekly at 1:30pm. Meet outside Norton Medical Centre.Moderate walk of 1hour, mostly paved/sufaced 

Thursday

Newtown  Weekly at 10am. Meet at Newtown Community Resource CentreModerate walk of about 1 hour, all paved. 

Friday  

Stillington  Fortnightly at 10am, meet at Stillington Youth and Community Centre, moderate to strenuous 1 to 2 hour walk in surrounding countryside, please enquire for dates.

Ragworth  Weekly at 11am. Meet at Ragworth Neighbourhood CentreModerate walk of about 1 hour, all paved.
